It’s no secret that Apple set the bar high when they launched iPad back in April 2010. Of course, with the release of the iPad 2, the standards of tablet computing were raised to almost insurmountable heights.

However, while the iPad is still considered by most to be the best tablet computer available today, it’s sometimes tough to fit “the best” into your budget. When it comes to your credit, it’s important to know how you stack up. Do you have good credit? Excellent credit? Poor credit? How can you find out?

In most cases, the easiest way to determine the health of your credit is to look at your credit score, a numerical value that reflects a mathematical analysis of your debt, your payment history, the existence of liens or other  judgments, and other statistical data collected by the credit bureaus. In other words, your credit score is the compact, simplified version of your entire credit history, all rolled up into one tidy three-digit number.

April 27, 2011 is a day that many people in my small neighborhood in Knoxville, Tennessee won’t soon forget. An outbreak of tornadoes and other devastating weather systems wreaked havoc in Tennessee, as well as Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi, and Virginia, changing the lives of millions. Looking back on that experience, the hailstorm was probably the least frightening aspect of that fateful day. I knew then that it was going to be a long and complex process to put the pieces back together.

The damaged caused by these storms was much more than a DIY expert could handle.

Whether you are a professional photographer or just enjoy using a point-and- shoot device, there is a good chance that you are in the market for a quality digital camera.

Digital cameras come in all shapes and sizes, touting such performance bonuses as megapixels, expandable memory, and LCD screens. There are a number of cameras out there that offer excellent photo and video quality, with a number of features and an attractive price.

It’s tempting to disregard the steep price tag and hire a professional contractor for home improvement  repairs rather than doing them yourself. Home repairs can seem complex and intimidating to the uninitiated, and fear that your own attempts at fixing that leaky faucet or drafty window will cause further damage may further discourage you from going DIY.

However, having a home maintenance plan can make a huge difference in your bank account. And, fortunately, performing proper home maintenance does not require a lot of specialized know-how or training, nor does it require a lot of time or money.

When it comes to navigating from point A to point B, I have no idea how I survived so long without a GPS. There’s something comforting about the calm, level-headed voice that comes out of that little black box, telling me how to get wherever I want. Long gone are the days when I have to add an extra 30 minutes to my travel time to make sure that I have time to ask for directions at least once.

Though standalone GPS devices – not an app on your smartphone – may be slowly crawling toward obsolescence, I don’t think they’ll be totally gone for quite some time.

Contrary to popular belief, you do not have to spend thousands of dollars to get a quality laptop computer. While you may be aware that many netbooks can be purchased at a bargain price, you may not know that some of the best laptops cost less than $500.

If you are in the market to purchase a new laptop, consider a less expensive model. You could save yourself hundreds of dollars and receive the same performance as a more expensive model.
